Recently opened in Market Street, Hoylake is "Honest To Goodness", Wirral's only fully Vegan Grocery Shop. Run by John the proprietor, who is a very helpful and knowledgeable person. The shop is well-stocked with a wide range of ethical products from cosmetics, household products to ready meals and ingredients, new on the list is a range of chocolate snack bars, John also has an established organic vegetable box scheme. There's more to come with a possible vegan cafe.

Open 7 days a week, it's well worth a visit.

Having your cake and eat it.

Ever wanted a cake and thought "What's in this?". Well fear no more, local veggie Sarah Kearney has started supplying her own home made truly veggie & vegan cakes, also gluten-free are available. With a nursing background, Sarah started her home baking business "Buttercupcakes" on the Wirral this year, specialising in restricted diets, including gluten free, no added sugar, dairy free, and vegan cakes. Sarah is also about to start making wedding and celebration cakes to order.

Just to let you know I have a new Wirral outlet for my cakes. I have started to supply The Greenhouse Tea Room & Village Delicatessen Christchurch Rd Oxton CH43 5SF. 0151 670 1440 The Greenhouse is a lovely friendly specialist food shop in Oxton village Birkenhead. They currently stock my vegan fruit cake, and jam tarts .They also stock my gluten free raspberry, orange, cherry, and carrot cakes and dairy free range. I will be supplying them with vegan Christmas cakes, mince pies and puddings from November onwards.
